The Young and Restless debuted in 1973. At the beginning, the show featured the Brooks, Foster and Chancellor families. Later, the show added the Reeds, Williams and the introduction of Victor Newman. In the early 80s, the show added the Abbotts, the Romalottis, Brad Carlton, Lauren Fenmore, Crickett Blair. In the 1990s, the show introduced the Barbers, Sheila Carter, Michael Baldwin, Phyllis Sommers, Sharon Collins, and the Hodges among others.
