Week Ending August 4

Brad told Victoria about his past. Jack and Nick agreed to move forward. Sharon was kidnapped and ended up in the same place as JT. Nikki gave Nick some advice on custody. Victor told Jack about his visions of Hope. Brad found out that Sharon had been kidnapped. Victor headed off on a spiritual quest and left Nikki a note. Victor told Hope he was looking for enlightenment. Rebecca comforted Colleen. Sharon's kidnapper wanted something from Brad. Nick saw a sonogram of the baby. Brad and Nick disagreed on how to handle Sharon's kidnapping. Daniel considered telling Lily the truth. Dru told Carmen to keep away from Neil. Nikki reacted to Sharon's kidnapping. Alex threatened Daniel. Phyllis told Daniel to tell Lily the truth. Gloria and Kevin teamed up against Alex. Daniel confessed to Lily. Gloria spiked Alex's drink. Michael returned from New Orleans. Jana agreed to help Kevin and Gloria with their plan. Victor suffered a big seizure. Brad, Victoria, Paul, and Nick searched for the reliquary. Kevin showed Alex an incriminating video tape. Hope was concerned about Victor's visions. Nick and Brad reacted to a video of Sharon. Brad worked to save his family. Victoria tried to deal with the truth about Brad's identity. Paul and Victoria went to search for JT and Sharon. Brad worried about Sharon. Lily found out about Alex. Nick and Brad were forced to work together to find Sharon.

Week Ending August 11

Jack went to visit John in prison. Neil and Dru were not happy with Daniel. Sharon tried to escape. Victor tried to convince Hope that he is okay. Nick and Victoria continued to search for the reliquary. Jack comforted Daniel. Michael's birthday gift for John calmed some of the Abbott-Fisher family tension. Brad worried about Nick's decision. Phyllis wanted Daniel to fight for Lily. Paul, JT, Brad, Nick, and Victoria rushed to save Sharon. Lily moved out. Dru tried to seduce Neil. JT returned home. Nick got a call from the guys who have Sharon. Dru apologized to Neil and Carmen. Nick, Brad, and Victoria met with an art dealer. Neil and Dru confronted Daniel. Nick heard a gunshot. Paul and JT found a clue in the videotape. Kay wanted John to return to Jabot. Gloria came up with a product idea. John got an extremely bad headache. John suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital. Dru, Neil, and Lily argued. Kevin tried to comfort Daniel. Lily considered divorcing Daniel. Lauren kept helping Michael in his search for his father. Dru and Neil's marriage was strained even more. Hope was there for Victor on his "spiritual quest".

Week Ending August 18

John's family learned he had suffered a massive stroke. Michael was unsure if he really wants to find his father. Nick went to make the exchange with Sharon's kidnappers. Dru was upset over her fight with Neil. JT opened the shipping container. Billy Abbott (played by Scott Seymour) returned. Brad and Nick faced off with the kidnappers. Neil told Lily he had moved into the athletic club. Gloria learned from the doctor that John had signed a do not resuscitate order. Brad gave Colleen and Rebecca updates. Gloria and Jack argued over whether John should be on life support. Dru accused Neil of spending the night with Carmen. Nikki tried to comfort Sharon. Nick canceled his plans with Phyllis. Dru confronted Neil and Carmen at the club. Gloria tried to convince Jack she was right about John. Billy and Colleen talked about John. Sharon informed Nick that she did not need his help. Gloria informed Jack that she had changed her mind. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) returned for 3 episodes. Neil apologized to Carmen. Nick confronted Victoria about Brad and Sharon. Nikki called Hope. Lily planned a family dinner. John was taken off life support. Dru planned a romantic getaway with Neil but he was more interested in spending time with Carmen. Tragedy struck the Abbott family as John Abbott died (Jerry Douglas exited the show, but will make appearances as a "spirit" from time to time to family members).

Week Ending August 25

Brad told Sharon their relationship was over. Gloria and Jack did not see eye to eye on John's funeral. Brad wanted JT to investigate Oscar. Billy told Kay and Jill that he was leaving town. Nikki questioned Victoria about having a baby. Noah complained about Sharon to Nick. Brad tried to win back Victoria. Jack and Ashley found out that John left Gloria half his estate. Lauren gave Michael a restored version of his grandmother's diary. Nick worried about Noah. Dru followed Neil and Carmen. Ashley disapproved of Gloria's choice. Jack, Ashley, and Traci remembered John. Jack instructed the minister to start the service without Gloria there. Kay, Jill, Traci, Ashley, and Jack all shared memories of John. Gloria was furious when she found out she missed John's service. Jack played a dirty trick on Gloria when he told her she was not legally married to John. Eric Braeden (Victor) returned. Jack and Gloria argued about the funeral. Chris revealed that Gloria gets half of John's estate. Dru sabotaged Neil's date with Carmen. The Newmans threw a surprise party to welcome Victor back. Jack got a mysterious note from John from the prison chaplain. Dru told Carmen to keep away from Neil. Michael, Lauren, and Kevin were upset by Jack's latest attack on Gloria. Nick was concerned about Sharon's mental state. Devon interrupted an intimate moment betwen Neil and Carmen.

Week Ending September 1

Sharon was not happy that Nick and Phyllis wanted to tell Noah about the new baby. Gloria and Michael battled Ashley and Jack in court over John's will. Nick and Phyllis decided to move in together. Sharon overreacted to Noah's prank. The handdwritten will, which Jack secretly got a jailed John to write while he was having memory problems, cut Gloria out of getting anything. Victor wanted Sharon to open up about her kidnapping. Gloria was stunned by John's new will. Jack changed the locks at the Abbott house. Kevin confronted Billy. Daniel asked Lily out on a date. Kay told Jack she was suspicious of the new will. Kay and Jill questioned Billy about his future plans. Daniel and Lily had a romantic picnic. Nick and Phyllis tried to cheer up Noah. Sharon talked to Dru about the kidnapping and affair with Brad. Neil got to play some one on one with LA Lake Luke Walton. Sharon and Dru shared more secrets. Nick and Phyllis told Noah about the new baby. Ashley thought Jack was involved in John's rewriting of the will. Gloria learned the second will was in John's handwriting. Jack and Ashley informed the judge of Gloria's past. Victor had a seizure at the gym. Jack got a ghostly visit from John. John criticized Jack's treatment of Gloria. Sharon and Nick argued about Noah. The judge's ruling shocked Gloria. Jack and Sharon shared a drink at the club. Sharon and Dru supported one another. John's final wishes made it impossible for Jack to get rid of Gloria.
