Week Ending October 3

Nicole discovered she was pregnant. Bo arrested Caroline for Trent's murder and she was thrown in jail. Stephanie learned Trent's fate. Bo, Roman and Steve reviewed Trent's murder case. Chelsea and Theo reunited at the hospital. Daniel insisted on helping Kate through her ordeal. Victor offered to help Caroline. Nicole made a dinner date with EJ, hoping to tell him about her pregnancy. Sami found out she's pregnant. Theo had a breakthrough in therapy. Nicole confided in John. Kate underwent a lung biopsy. Kayla supported Max and told him not to give up on Melanie. Lucas rushed Sami to the hospital. Morgan walked in on Phillip kissing Chloe. Max and Melanie suspected each other in Trent's murder. Sami and EJ fought. Abe thought about running for Mayor. Kayla replaced Lexie as chief of staff at the hospital.

Week Ending October 10

Lucas encouraged Sami to tell the truth about her baby. Max told Melanie to stay way from Philip. After Lucas prompted Sami to tell EJ about the baby, he saw EJ and congratulated him. John upended Marlena's divorce intention. Sami woke up in Lucas' bed. Stefano wanted the board to see John's instability. Though warned, Melanie met Philip but dropped Trent's wallet. Sami decided not to tell EJ about their unborn baby. Marlena left the mansion without her divorce papers signed. Lucas nearly told EJ about his unborn child. The Salem PD had a search warrant for Max. Nicole tried to say she's carrying EJ's baby but backed off. Marlena needed help to convince John to see a doctor. John and Nicole agreed that he could help by being her friend. EJ had to make a choice. Bo and Roman continued to work on Trent's murder investigation. Roman and Bo found Max's bloody shirt. Bo and Roman kept investigating the murder. Mayor Marino suggested they consider Max a suspect. Max's bloodied shirt might be evidence. Nick got a DUI and felt responsible for Trent's death. Melanie ruminated on the night Trent died. Sami called her parents. Lexie wanted Chelsea to forgive Daniel and Kate. Melanie and Stephanie got physical. Chelsea visited Nick in jail. Max found Trent's wallet in Stephanie's purse. Kate was upset that her biopsy results were not in. Chelsea saw Nick in jail and thought he's hiding something. Melanie acted innocent with unconvinced Bo. The DA freed Max, who planned to be more open with Stephanie. Theo's distraught baby sitter could not find him. Kate wanted her biopsy results. Stephanie thought Melanie killed Trent. Abe and Lexie were frantic to find Theo. Sami found out that Nicole is pregnant. EJ tried to convince John to seek further treatment. Marlena and Roman met Sami, who did not tell the truth about the baby. Trying to convince John to seek help, EJ told him that he is self-centered. Abe and Lexie found Theo, who had gone to see Chelsea in the hospital. Chelsea told Daniel to move on. Abe and Lexie were accused of being terrible parents. Kate left the hospital against Daniel's wishes. Melanie started to remember the night of Trent's murder. Abe decided to run for Mayor. Kate and Daniel had sex. Sami witnessed a murder.

Week Ending October 17

Max confronted Stephanie about finding Trent's wallet in her purse. Sami expressed her concern over Nicole's pregnancy with EJ. EJ told Nicole that he wanted proof of paternity. Stephanie thought Melanie planted the wallet on her. Philip asked Melanie if she killed Trent. John visited Marlena. Chelsea found Kate at Barron's and accused her and Daniel of scheming. John tried to convince Marlena he had changed. Lucas told Chloe that Sami would live with them for the time being. A paternity test determined that EJ is the father of Nicole's baby. Stephanie and Max searched Trent's wallet for prints. Lexie and Abe fired the sitter for allowing Theo to run off. Sami thought EJ would not be aware of her pregnancy. Nick disagreed with Melanie's statement that she was the cause of his drinking. Stephanie worried that Melanie killed Trent. EJ accused Nicole of using her pregnancy for financial gain. Sami tried to hide her stomach in her new clothes. Chloe arrived at the cabin and found Sami. Sami thought it was a good time to end it with EJ. Daniel and Kate became intimate. Abe determined to run a clean campaign. Stefano supported the mayor grudgingly. Nick and Melanie kissed. Sami scheduled a prenatal appointment. Lucas misread Sami's trip to the clinic, then hugged her. EJ convinced Nicole to move into the mansion after she was about to be evicted. John said he was forfeiting his rights to the DiMera empire and signed divorce papers for Marlena. Misinterpreting Lucas and Sami's hug, Chloe learned the baby is EJ's. Sami gathered courage to tell EJ the truth. When the mayor went to confront Stefano, a killer shot him. Melanie admitted she may have killed Trent. Lexie urged Kate to forgive Chelsea and Daniel. Nicole forced EJ to choose.

Week Ending October 24

Chloe and Lucas enjoyed a romantic evening. The murderer vowed to kill Sami Brady. Melanie briefly told Max what happened the night their dad died. Sami interrupted an intimate moment between Nicole and EJ. Nicole did not believe Sami's story until she tripped over Marino's body. Max confided in Stephanie. Nicole had stomach pains. Max broke up with Stephanie. John finds Nicole in terrible pain. Lexie confronted Stefano about the mayor's death. Stephanie told Bo and Hope about Melanie's argument with Trent on the night he died. EJ took Nicole to the hospital. Chelsea made plans with Nick. Phillip saw through Marlena's devious side. Phillip confronted Daniel about his relationship with Kate. Lexie told Tony she may be responsible for the mayor's death. Sami, Lucas and EJ were in the killer's sights at the cabin. Nicole talked to Chloe about her pregnancy and her battle with Sami. The mayor's killer shot at Sami. Roman told Sami she must enter the witness protection program. Melanie cut short her date with Nick. Marlena still planned to file divorce papers. Sami agreed to enter the witness protection program. Melanie tried to seduce Philip. Max saw Melanie become vicious with Bo. Chelsea figured out that Kate and Daniel were together again. Daniel revealed the results of Kate's tests.

Week Ending October 31

Sami covered Johnny's revelation and said goodbye. Chloe and Lucas were intimate. Nicole babysat Johnny. Sami was escorted to a secret loft. Nick told Melanie that he could help establish her innocence if she stays. Chelsea wanted to confide in Nick that she was worried about Kate. Sami was alone with a stranger in the apartment. Max admitted his worry that Melanie may have killed Trent to Bo. Chelsea admitted she feels horrible for what she said to Kate. Trent's will left all to Melanie but a box and a letter. Kate told Lucas and Phillip that she has lung cancer and wanted Lucas to run the business. Chelsea ran to Kate's treatment with a St Sofia medal. Phillip fired Lucas from Titan. Darrell got reassigned when he realized Sami was faking illness. Bo opened an envelope intended for the police but did not tell Melanie. Philip cemented his status with Chloe. Nicole planned to decorate the nursery and she and EJ discussed marriage. Chelsea lashed out at Melanie. When Nicole was arrested she feared EJ did not believe her. Sami drugged her new guard just as a stranger appeared. Kate had chemotherapy but her odds were not good. An interview overwhelmed Theo and Abe and Lexie questioned his public exposure. Stephanie confided in Philip about Melanie. Nick offered to let Mel stay with him at Maggie's. EJ tried to defend Nicole who had been arrested and she freaked out. An intruder spooked Sami but the man was an FBI agent Rafe who would replace Hilda. Galen Gering (Luis-PASS) signed a contract role with the show to play an FBI agent named Rafe. Bo and Hope set Melanie up.
