Week Ending May 7 Marlena claimed that she killed everyone because she loved Roman. John vowed to get the bottom of Marlena's confession. Lucas practiced tough love with a drunk Sami. Nicole talked Crystal into killing Marlena. Jennifer's bearer bonds came up missing while Patrick skipped town and Bonnie had a bunch of cash. Shawn prepared to leave town as Phillip comforted Belle. Week Ending May 14 Crystal set Marlena up to look like she was trying to escape and Marlena was shot on the roof of the jail. John took Marlena's body to the church. Jan got Shawn to her country house where she drugged him and handcuffed him to the bed inside the cage. Marlena's spirit told Celeste that everyone in Salem would die. Patrick recovered Jennifer's bonds, but got a beating for his trouble. Sami blamed Bo and John for her mother's death. Belle turned to Phillip when she could not reach Shawn. Week Ending May 21 Celeste believed that Marlena was still alive, but she was buried anyway. Nicole had to bail Crystal out of jail. Sami made a scene at Marlena's burial because she thought she heard her mother call her name. Marlena was alive in the coffin one minute and appeared dead the next. Shawn's family and friends worried about where he might be as Jan kept up her plot to have him all to herself. Phillip spent more time with Belle. Lucas tried to comfort Sami. Week Ending May 28 Marlena was transported from the coffin to an island where she found Alice, Roman, Abe and Doug all alive. The island was made to look just like Salem, except a few things were missing from her copied penthouse. Sami continued to blame Bo and John for her mother's death. Belle continued to worry about Shawn as did Hope. Lexie was moving closer to Tek as Abe worried she would move on with her life before he could return. Crystal blackmailed Nicole into letting her move into the mansion. Jan continued to hold Shawn prisoner. A siren sounded on island Salem announcing the impending arrival of another "dead" Salemite.
