E.J. and Sami disagreed about whether to tell Rafe of the latest ransom note. Rafe confided in Arianna. Carly was desperate for news of Melanie's health. Melanie awakened in the hospital. Daniel blasted Carly. Anna feared that EJ's obsession would ruin his plans. Maggie worried that her condition had returned. Arianna comforted Melanie. EJ’s rage was frightening Anna. Roman worried that Sami was in denial over losing two babies in one year. E.J. called Sami with news about Sydney. Rafe confided in Roman. Arianna was upset that Brady wanted to tell Nicole of Sydney's death. Mia overheard Chad asking Gabi out. Gabi told Will she was suspicious of Mia's feelings for him. Gabi offered her condolences to Will. Sami and EJ saw a video of Sydney and got a ransom demand. EJ spied on Sami with Rafe. Anna lashed out at EJ for what he was doing to Sami. Rafe continued to worry about Sami. Daniel told Melanie that he is her father. Philip urged Hope to fight for Bo. Rafe discovered Sami's true knowledge of the latest ransom note. Sami, Rafe, and Will were overjoyed by Sydney's return. Stephanie confided in Caroline. Carly reached out to Melanie. Nathan admitted he still has feelings for Melanie. EJ became protective of Sydney around Stefano. Rafe shunned Sami for lying to him. Melanie unloaded emotionally on Nathan. Brady took Arianna to a country inn. Rafe insisted that he and Sami try to find the kidnapper. Melanie realized Stephanie never gave the letter to Nathan. Brady asked Chloe for a favor. Melanie and Stephanie argued over Nathan. Maggie took a tumble at home. Rafe focused on the aftermath of Sydney's rescue. EJ played a fatherly role with Sami and the kids. Will gave Mia a token to signify their exclusiveness. Carly made a decision about her hearing. Rafe received a lead on Sydney's kidnapper. Arianna urged Rafe to forgive Sami. EJ and Sami bonded over the baby. Kate tried to play peacemaker. Arianna talked about her regrets when she visited Melanie. Daniel tried to comfort Melanie. EJ asked to spend the night with Sami. Rafe assured Sami that he still loves her. Brady proposed to Arianna. Sami told EJ that she feared she had damaged her relationship with Rafe. Hope told Melanie the facts about her wedding day. Rafe called Sami and EJ to the cottage and questioned them. Nicole gradually started remembering more details about the person who kidnapped Sydney. Max (Darin Brooks) returned and visited with Caroline and Melanie. Stephanie was determined to win Nathan over. Nicole pressured Anna to meet with her. Carly decided to plead guilty for shooting Melanie, but others tried to change her mind. Melanie bonded with Max and Daniel. Fay offered Nicole some advice. Stephanie came somewhat clean with Nathan. Max warned Philip to be good to Melanie. Carly thanked Daniel. Chad confessed to Gabi that he still has feelings for Mia. Melanie showed up at Carly's sentencing. Nicole confronted Anna about taking Sydney. Chad and Mia agreed to see one another secretly. Kate hatched a plan for Stefano to see Sydney. Chad and Mia could not fight their feelings. Nicole blackmailed Anna into helping her. Daniel learned that Chloe had been lying to him about going to therapy. Kate let Carly know Vivian was on the warpath. Phillip and Melanie moved into Maggie's house. Carly faced off with Vivian on the pier Theo revealed to EJ that he knows his secret. Daniel threatened Vivian to leave Carly alone. Arianna and Brady shared their engagement news. Anna asked the governor for a pardon for Nicole. Daniel confronted Chloe about her lying. Hope filled Melanie in on what happened on her wedding day.

Nicole's chances of being released from prison were ruined when Anna was refused a pardon from the governor. Arianna and Brady decided to elope. Will accused Mia of cheating. Carly told Bo about Vivian's threats. Anna moved on to a new plan regarding the governor. Mia vowed to get revenge on Gabi. Rafe explained why he would not recommend Sami for a job with the FBI. Brady and Arianna realized they were on the same page. Will told Kate about Mia two-timing him. Anna blackmailed the governor with incriminating photos. Hope told Justin she doesn't love him. Nathan admitted he wanted a break from his relationship with Stephanie. Stephanie warned Philip to keep an eye on his wife. Justin and Adrienne realized that Hope wants them to get together. Daniel told Bo about Vivian's threats. Rafe confronted the governor about pardoning Nicole. Brady and Arianna got ready to get married. Melanie lied to Nathan. Bo gave Victor an ultimatum. Brady insisted he still wanted to marry Arianna. Victor told Vivian the feud must end. Someone told Phillip to keep an eye on his wife. Arianna worried about marrying Brady. Nicole realized that Brady was getting married. EJ tried to do damage control with EJ and Rafe. Adrienne (Judi Evans returned) confronted Hope. Sami vowed vengeance on Anna to EJ. Vivian had it out with Bo and Carly. Adrienne realized that Justin was in love with Hope. Brady insisted that he still wanted to marry Arianna. Governor Ford (Stuart Damon) called Rafe's bluff. Arianna decided to go ahead with the wedding. EJ was questioned by Rafe. Stefano was stunned when he learned that Anna kidnapped Sydney. Nicole tried to derail Brady. Mia told Chad that she broke up with Will.
