Week Ending August 8

E.J. told Ava there's a new judge on her case who cannot be bribed. Nick watched Melanie's video and tried to reach Max. Hope was upset Bo risked his reputation and career to help Philip. Philip told Morgan he had a dream that she was falling in love with him. Max told Melanie he is her older brother. Stefano secretly woke up from his coma and vowed to get revenge. John was upset that Ava left him. John threatened to kill his brother. Hope talked to Philip about why he threatened Paul. Stephanie and Melanie did not get along. Melanie was arrested. Stefano continued to pretend he was unconscious. E.J. visited Stefano and was shocked when Stefano spoke to him. Kayla, Maggie, Julie and Chelsea helped Hope prepare for a big night. A person in a ski mask entered Marlena's home. Bo told Hope he wanted them to renew their wedding vows. E.J. and Tony realized Stefano had spoken to both of them in secret. Hope was taken to St. Luke's. Anna demanded Tony tell Lexie the truth about Stefano. Marlena was confronted by a masked intruder. Sami came face to face with a conscious Stefano. A reporter accused Bo of suppressing evidence in the Hollingsworth case. Melanie was accused of stealing Tiffany's bracelet. Stefano told Tony and E.J. he was going to get revenge on Marlena. Marlena tried to call for help, but was paralyzed. Friends and family gathered to watch Bo and Hope renew their vows.

Week Ending August 15

Stefano continued to blame Marlena. Tony and E.J. doubted that Marlena could harm Stefano. Anna found John to tell him Stefano was awake. Ava (Tamara Braun left the show) skipped town. John and Anna found Marlena on the floor of her penthouse. Stefano warned Tony that he was going to have to choose sides. Kayla searched for a cure. John confronted Stefano. Kayla tried to determine the substance Marlena was injected with. Marlena admitted to having injected Stefano with a toxin. Steve prevented John from hurting Stefano. Marlena had bad news for Anna. A strange vapor began to waft out of the vents. Someone removed Marlena's oxygen mask and she began to breathe in the vapor. Steve grabbed an oxygen mask for baby Joe. Kayla lost consciousness. John told Stefano that he would not get away with it. Stefano told Sami he would not hurt her. Steve tried to save baby Joe. Roman set up a base of operations for the police at the hospital. Tony suggested John take over the DiMera empire. Nicole told Philip she was falling for E.J.. John and Tony faced off. Sami threatened Stefano. Marlena asked Stefano if he would kill her. The disk was thrown away. Roman asked a technician to get him access to the security cameras. John heard Stefano's voice over the intercom. Sami, dazed, trips E.J., thinking he was Stefano. Nicole saw Sami and E.J. on the security cameras. Baby Joe was missing.

Week Ending August 22

Nicole, devastated that E.J. had chosen Sami over her, began drinking and dreamed up a black and white film noir fantasy. Stefano vowed revenge on John. In her fantasy, Nicole accused E.J. of having an affair with Sami. After she finished daydreaming, Nicole rushed to the hospital to check on E.J. John was able to activate the ventilation system at the hospital. Marlena was visited by her dead twin sister and they argued over whether or not Marlena should give up on John. Stefano handed baby Joe over to Rolf. Chloe and Nicole teamed up to get the men they want. Roman briefed Abe on the situation at the hospital. Lucas and Chloe ran into Stefano. Kayla and Steve woke up and realized Joe was gone. Stefano, in a pre-recorded message, said he wants to press charges against Marlena. Steve and Kayla found baby Joe. E.J. and Tony agreed to unite and fight John's take over of the family empire. Stefano told Rolf they must go underground. Kayla wanted to know why Stefano took Joe. Marlena's initial prognosis was good. Lucas told Nicole it's over between him and Sami. Marlena woke up with just one question for John.

Week Ending August 29

Marlena, awakening from her paralysis, did not recognize John at first. A guard recognized Stephanie in jail. Melanie showed Nick to the jail. Lucas told Sami he was taking his daughter and leaving. Trent wanted Nicole to provide him with information. Bo gave Roman the original recording of Philip threatening Paul. Caroline got a call from Max as Trent listened. Kate told Daniel she was worried about Chelsea finding out about them. Melanie said she could not help Max and Stephanie. Nicole questioned Trent. Bo was determined to crack the Hollingsworth case. Morgan was angry with Philip, though she still loved him. Philip was served with a subpoena. Chelsea surprised Daniel at his apartment. Roman and John argued over where Marlena should recuperate. Daniel told Chelsea about his relationship with Kate. Melanie asked a friend to help get Max and Stephanie out of jail. Trent learned that Nick was out of town. Daniel confided in Lexie. Trent strong armed Nicole. Lexie tried to patch things up between Chelsea and Daniel. Trent wanted to hire Steve to find Nick in Europe. Morgan saw her dad. Nick and Melanie formed an instant connection. Marlena was not in her hospital room and nobody seemed to know where she was. John found Marlena. Chelsea met Daniel and Kate at the pub. Tony and Anna moved their things into the DiMera mansion. Anna was uncomfortable with the situation.
